Community Litter Pick in the area surrounding the Hardwick Shopping precinct in the Southgate Ward of Bury St Edmunds
Ward councillors Sarah Stamp and Patrick Chung will be there at 10am and they will start in the grounds outside the Community Centre and shops and moving outwards for 2 hours.
Children from Hardwick Primary School will also be in attendance, as will officers from St Edmundsbury Borough Council who will provide the necessary safety equipment, representatives from the Police, the Southgate Community Partnership and Southgate Church, and also a group of local residents who have contacted Cllrs Stamp and Chung with concerns about the litter. The group will also be joined by the Mayor of St Edmundsbury, Councillor Christopher Spicer, who is keen to promote community litter picks across the Borough.
Anyone is welcome to come along on the day and join in this fantastic example of the "Big Society" in action.
If you would like any further information, please feel free to contact Cllr Stamp on 07584 028671 or via email at sarah.stamp@stedsbc.gov.uk.
